Bewegung - A walking cycle in animation
A moving or walking cycle in animation is a sequence of frames that shows a character walking or moving in a continuous loop. The purpose of creating a cycle is to save time and effort in animating a character's movement by reusing the same set of frames throughout the animation. To create a walking cycle, an animator typically starts by drawing the key poses of a character's movement. These key poses include the contact pose, where one foot touches the ground, the passing pose, where the other foot passes the contact foot, and the high point pose, where the character's body is at its highest point during the stride. Once the key poses are established, the animator will draw the frames in between them to create a smooth transition between each pose. The animator may also add additional frames to create a more fluid movement and add details such as arm swing and head bobbing to make the animation look more natural.
